This was the first event in our new and engaging series, called “Medical Student Hot Seat”. This event was led by Dr. Matthew Eagles, PGY-4 at the University of Calgary, which simulated an interactive session mimicking neurosurgery electives and rounds, particularly focused on vascular neurosurgery. Medical students volunteered to answer cases on (1) subarachnoid hemorrhage, (2) parenchymal intracranial hemorrhage, (3) ischemic stroke, (4) unruptured aneurysm, and (5) vascular malformation. Participants had the chance to practice their clinical knowledge pertaining to differential diagnosis, treatment management, and complications in a safe and judgment-free environment.
To respect student confidentiality the recording will not be posted. You are always welcome to join these sessions live and participate or observe.
