Professor Mojgan Hodaie: Adventures in Academic Neurosurgery

In celebration of International Women’s Day and the vital role that women play in surgery, leadership and STEM, we are excited to kick-start the “Women in Neurosurgery” lecture series where eminent healthcare leaders discuss their professional career, impart wisdom and advocate for an increased presence of women in the field. Dr. Mojgan Hodaie is a Professor at the University of Toronto Department of Surgery (Division of Neurosurgery) and a staff neurosurgeon at the Toronto Western Hospital.

With expertise in stereotactic and functional neurosurgery, she is the co-director of the Gamma Knife Centre. Dr. Hodaie also runs an active laboratory centred on structural MRI imaging with a focus in neuropathic pain. She has published prolifically and is recognized as a global leader in functional neurosurgery.
